10-Year-Old Charged in Armed Robbery Attempt at Dollar Tree
A 10-year-old was detained by store employees after allegedly threatening an employee with a fixed-blade knife; one employee was stabbed and required medical treatment.
On Monday, June 29, 2026 at approximately 5:06 p.m., Swatara Township Police responded to the Dollar Tree at 3243 Paxton Street in Harrisburg where employees had detained a 10-year-old male who allegedly entered the store brandishing a fixed-blade knife and demanding money. Store employees subdued the juvenile but one employee was stabbed multiple times and required medical treatment; the juvenile was charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Possessing an Instrument of a Crime and is being held in a secured detention facility pending court.
