On July 12, 2026, at about 8:50 p.m., Steelton Borough Police responded to a report of two suspicious masked males at the Steelwork Apartments and stopped a nearby vehicle for a traffic violation. A front-seat passenger, identified as 18-year-old Kieare Hoskins, fled on foot but was caught after a brief pursuit; a search recovered a stolen, loaded handgun. Hoskins was taken to Dauphin County Central Booking and charged with receiving stolen property, carrying a firearm without a license, evading arrest on foot, and tampering with physical evidence; charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
