On July 12, 2026, Steelton Borough officers responding to a report of two suspicious, ski-mask-clad males near the Steelwork Apartments located and stopped a vehicle after a traffic violation. A front-seat passenger, identified as 18-year-old Kieare Hoskins, fled on foot but was captured; a search recovered a stolen, loaded handgun. Hoskins was arraigned at Dauphin County Central Booking and charged with receiving stolen property, carrying a firearm without a license, evading arrest on foot and tampering with physical evidence; he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
