North Charleston police arrested 20-year-old Aiden Matthew Splendorio after a patrol at the Red Roof Inn on Northwoods Boulevard led officers to a parked SUV where they smelled marijuana and observed signs of drug use. A probable cause search turned up small amounts of marijuana, a 0.65-gram pink powder that field-tested presumptively positive for fentanyl, and three green rectangular bars identified as alprazolam; Splendorio had no prescription for the medication. He was charged with possession of fentanyl and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
