Agencies can award up to $25,000 in bonuses without OPM review
New guidance lets agencies grant individual cash and performance awards up to $25,000 without prior U.S. Office of Personnel Management review. “Agencies should use this authority to provide larger awards to their highest performers.”
Federal agencies previously had to obtain approval from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management to grant employees individual cash and performance awards of more than $10,000 and up to $25,000.
