Al Michaels slips up on Thursday Night Football, misdates Williams and Maye
Veteran broadcaster Al Michaels mistakenly said Caleb Williams and Drake Maye were part of the 2014 NFL draft class during the Bears-Patriots Thursday Night Football game.
Al Michaels became part of the story during Thursday night’s game between the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots, and it wasn’t because of a memorable call. The longtime broadcaster mistakenly said quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Drake Maye were members of the 2014 NFL draft class. They actually entered the NFL in 2024. Pro Football Network reported that the mistake quickly caught the attention of fans watching Amazon Prime Video.
