Ali Jibril charged with luring child into motor vehicle

On March 12, 2026, Mechanicsburg police received a report that a 12-year-old female had been approached by a male on foot outside a business in the 1st block of East Simpson Street two days earlier; the male engaged her in conversation and offered her a ride, which she declined, then gave her his phone number. Investigation of the number identified the man as 25-year-old Ali Jibril, and a search warrant for his phone records showed he had been in the area on the date of the incident. The warrant for Jibril was served June 30, 2026; he was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Mark W. Martin, bail was set at $80,000 unsecured, a preliminary hearing will occur later, and Jibril is believed to be in Texas currently.
