Ambler police warn of jury-duty phone scam
Callers claiming to be 'Sergeant Gilbert' from the Ambler Police tell residents they owe jury-duty fines; officials say it's a scam.
The Ambler Borough Police Department warned residents today about a phone scam in which a man claiming to be 'Sergeant Gilbert' calls and says the recipient owes fines for failing to report for jury duty. Authorities say the calls are fraudulent, advise residents not to provide any personal or credit card information, and ask anyone who shared information or lost money to contact the department and file a report.
