A simple mistake led to the capture of an “America’s Most Wanted” fugitive after 20 years on the run.
Dr. Ronald Fischer was arrested off the coast of New York and New Jersey, U.S. Marshals announced last month. He was taken into custody with assistance from the U.S. Coast Guard while he was on his 56-foot sailing vessel, “The Silver Lining,” and hiding in plain sight with one of multiple aliases.
