On July 13, 2026 at approximately 10:38 AM, Chambersburg Police responded to an armed robbery at the Wendy's located at 1091 Wayne Ave. A male wearing a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey, black shorts, a light-colored T‑shirt, a dark ball cap with a light logo, and carrying a dark backpack allegedly brandished a knife and demanded cash before leaving north toward Brandon Drive; he is described as possibly a white male with facial hair. The investigation (case 2026-07202) is active; the person shown in released images is a person of interest and not necessarily a suspect.
