Arrest — Reicel Paneque-Gavilan detained after stolen-vehicle stop in Lancaster
Police arrested a 35-year-old man after locating a stolen vehicle and evacuating nearby apartments in Lancaster.
On the evening of Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at approximately 6:37 p.m., Lancaster City Bureau of Police located a vehicle reported stolen from the 600 block of Poplar Street at East King Street and South Ann Street. A 35-year-old identified as Reicel Paneque-Gavilan ran from the vehicle into his Garden Court Apartments unit; officers evacuated surrounding apartments, removed two adults from the apartment, then persuaded Paneque-Gavilan to exit and took him into custody without injury. Streets were reopened, there is no danger to the public, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
