Ashira Smith arrested in Ephrata on PFA violation, resisting arrest

The Ephrata Police Department arrested 26-year-old Ashira Smith on July 23, 2026, after officers responded at 8:16 p.m. to the 100 block of E. Pine Street and determined she violated an active protection-from-abuse (PFA) order. Officers say Smith was informed she was under arrest and actively resisted; several officers assisted in taking her into custody. She was transported to Lancaster County Prison for Central Arraignment and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
