Barricade ends peacefully after SERT response on Third Street in Lancaster
SERT responded after an armed adult barricaded inside a Third Street home; the person surrendered and was taken into custody without use of force.
On July 4, 2026 at 8:07 a.m., Lancaster City Bureau of Police officers responded to a reported domestic violence incident on Third Street and removed an adult and several juveniles from the home. An armed adult barricaded inside; after patrol attempted negotiations the Lancaster County Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) took over and at approximately 11:07 a.m. the person exited and was taken into custody without further incident or use of force, then transported to the Lancaster City Bureau of Police for charges. Surrounding roadways were reopened.
