Barricaded adult arrested after Third Street standoff
An armed adult barricaded inside a Third Street home in Lancaster surrendered to the Lancaster County Special Emergency Response Team after several hours; no force was used and the surrounding roads were reopened.
On Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 8:07 a.m., Lancaster City Bureau of Police responded to a reported domestic violence incident on Third Street and removed an adult and several juveniles from the home while an armed adult barricaded inside. Lancaster County Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) was called in and, after ongoing efforts, the barricaded adult complied and exited the residence at approximately 11:07 a.m.; they were taken into custody without further incident or use of force and transported to the Lancaster City Bureau of Police for charges. Surrounding roadways have been reopened.
