Bensalem urges safe Independence Day celebrations; fireworks banned on township property

Bensalem Township Department of Public Safety urges residents to follow Pennsylvania fireworks laws and avoid using fireworks on township-owned property during America250 Independence Day celebrations.

As America250 begins, the Bensalem Township Department of Public Safety reminds residents that fireworks are prohibited on township-owned property, including parks, playgrounds, streets and other public areas. Consumer fireworks may be used only in accordance with Pennsylvania law, which requires private property owner permission and a 150-foot setback from occupied structures. Bensalem police officers and firefighters will actively enforce state fireworks laws and local township ordinances throughout the holiday weekend.
