Under Pennsylvania Vehicle Code Title 75 ยง3508(b), a person shall not ride a pedalcycle upon a sidewalk in a business district unless permitted by official traffic-control devices or when a usable pedalcycle-only lane has been provided adjacent to the sidewalk. York City Police report multiple pedestrian complaints about cyclists on downtown sidewalks and say officers will step up efforts to curb this illegal behavior.
