On September 12, 2026, City of Bradford police located and arrested 60-year-old Dennis Arthur Allen near the Elm Street bridge on an active bench warrant stemming from a December 24, 2025 incident at the Best Western Hotel. Officers say a search of Allen’s jacket uncovered a small plastic bag that field-tested positive for methamphetamine; the original criminal complaint alleges Allen and a female accomplice removed a coin mechanism valued at about $400 from a vending machine, took roughly $94 in change and $20–$24 in candy and damaged the machine. Allen was previously charged July 2, 2026 with conspiracy to commit retail theft (third-degree felony), conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking (first-degree misdemeanor) and conspiracy to commit criminal mischief; Magisterial District Judge David Engman set bail at $500 and Allen was remanded to the McKean County Jail, with the outstanding bench warrant serving as a detainer while hearings are scheduled.
