Bradford man charged after alleged assault while child in arms
Police say a domestic dispute on Oct. 3 escalated into a physical assault while the victim was holding the couple’s one-year-old child; the suspect was remanded on $10,000 bail.
The City of Bradford Police Department alleges Devin James Ortz, 26, assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute on Oct. 3, 2026, and continued the assault while the woman was holding their one-year-old child. Ortz was charged with felony third-degree endangering the welfare of children, misdemeanor second-degree simple assault (domestic violence) and summary harassment. He was arraigned Oct. 4, remanded to McKean County Jail on $10,000 cash bail, waived a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 14, and the charges are now held in McKean County Court of Common Pleas.
