Brentwood will hold the Battle of the Barrel on Friday, July 3, with temporary road closures and towing of vehicles parked in posted No Parking areas beginning at 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, July 4, the Firecracker 5K and parade require that vehicles along the parade route be moved by 6:00 a.m.; parade staging area closures begin at 7:00 a.m. and the main parade route on Brownsville Road (Sankey Avenue to Route 51) closes at 8:00 a.m. The celebration concludes with fireworks at Brentwood Park around 9:30 p.m.; stadium seating, concessions and restrooms will be available, but spectators are not permitted on Field 4 or the stadium field during the display. Attendees are asked to arrive early and follow directions from public safety personnel.
