On July 9, 2026, the Chambersburg Police Department learned of social media posts saying Shawn Gilbert was missing and last seen in Chambersburg. The posts had not been formally reported to CPD or another agency, so the Criminal Investigation Division contacted family and learned his last known location was the Sheetz on Monticello Ct. Approximately three hours into the investigation, investigators located Gilbert and determined he is safe; the case was closed as non-criminal.
