ChBE Hosts Bicentennial Symposium for Alumni and Students
Department celebrated 160 years of engineering and the College Bicentennial with a theme spanning a century of past and future research.
Kudos to the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE) Department for a successful symposium that brought more than 35 alumni back to campus to celebrate 160 years of engineering at Lafayette alongside the College’s Bicentennial. The theme, “100 Years in the Past to 100 Years in the Future,” reflected these milestones and was framed by three sessions based on ChBE’s core research areas: advanced materials, bioengineering, and energy, environment, and sustainability. From the Class of 1963 to the most recent 2025 graduates, the room was filled with decades of expertise. Students had the invaluable opportunity to engage with industry leaders, gaining insights that bridge the gap between the classroom and career.
