Chile's new president withdraws support for Bachelet's UN bid
Chile's new president has ended Santiago's backing of former president Michelle Bachelet for the UN's top job.
Chile's new hard-right President Jose Antonio Kast on Tuesday withdrew Santiago's support for former socialist president Michelle Bachelet as a candidate for UN secretary-general. Bachelet had been proposed by Chile as a contender for the United Nations' top post.
