Christopher James Colts charged after allegedly triggering High Rise smoke alarm in Bradford

A man is charged after allegedly holding a cigarette against a hallway smoke detector at a Bradford High Rise, setting off the alarm and evacuating residents.

On May 27, 2026, at about 0628 hours, Christopher James Colts was observed in the third-floor hallway of the High Rise at 2 Bushnell St. He allegedly blew smoke at a smoke detector and held a cigarette against the detector until the alarm activated, prompting a commercial fire alarm response by the Bradford City Fire Department and evacuation of the building. Housing Authority video was reviewed and Colts was charged with CC 4905A (False Alarms to Public Safety, M1) and CC 5503 A4 (Disorderly Conduct, M3); case 2026-05270630 was recorded July 18, 2026, bail set at $12,500 and he was remanded to McKean County Jail under Judge Luther.
