Sgt. Ryan Cywinski and Ptlm. Celia Bond of the Hanover Township Motor Carrier Enforcement Team spoke at a True Value safety meeting to advise drivers on preparing for safe trips and what to expect during inspections, covering common driver and vehicle violations, the 37-step inspection process, and questions on tires, lighting and hours-of-service related to ELD use. In June the division conducted 28 inspections that produced several violations, including 76 Out of Service violations, with some inspections showing multiple OOS violations affecting drivers and vehicles. With commercial motor vehicle traffic rising because of expansion at the Hanover Industrial Park and nearby commercial properties, the department said it remains committed to supporting company outreach and answering CMV safety questions.
