Community Alert: Amazon Brushing Scams

Warning about unsolicited packages used in Amazon “brushing” scams and steps to protect yourself.

Paradise Valley Police Department warns of “Amazon brushing” scams in which scammers send unsolicited items using fake accounts in your name, then post fake “verified purchase” reviews to boost product ratings and sales. If you receive an unexpected package, do not scan QR codes or provide personal information; report it to Amazon Customer Service and, if delivered by mail, to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and protect your accounts by changing passwords and enabling two-factor authentication.
