Community Alert — Amazon Brushing Scams in Paradise Valley

A ‘brushing’ scam occurs when scammers send items you didn’t order using accounts created in your name, then post fake “verified purchase” reviews to boost product ratings and sales. If you receive an unexpected package, do NOT scan any QR codes or provide personal information; report the shipment to Amazon Customer Service and, if delivered by mail, to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Protect your accounts by changing passwords and enabling two-factor authentication, and remain vigilant as unsolicited items can indicate your personal information has been exposed.
