Detectives warn of scam demanding cryptocurrency for fake court fines

Westmoreland County detectives say scammers have phoned residents claiming they missed court dates and must pay fines in cryptocurrency. A Greensburg victim was told to pay at a gas station, received texts with fake court documents, and lost $1,000; the contact number was later found to be a spoofed Mount Pleasant landline.
