Detransitioner sues surgeon tied to trans-care nonprofit
A young detransitioner who testified before North Carolina lawmakers is suing a surgeon affiliated with a trans-care nonprofit, alleging severe, lasting injuries after being convinced to pursue gender-related medical care.
Before North Carolina enacted a 2023 law banning body-altering gender treatments for minors, detransitioner Prisha Mosley testified about “severe and lasting injuries” she says resulted after being convinced to pursue gender-related care. Mosley is now suing a surgeon who is linked to a trans-care nonprofit. The case follows heightened legislative scrutiny of youth gender treatments in the state.
