Dingmans Ferry man charged with manufacturing child sexual abuse material, multiple sex-offense counts

Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced that 22-year-old Joseph Erkert of Dingmans Ferry has been charged with manufacturing and possessing child sexual abuse material, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of a minor, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault after an investigation involving federal and Canadian authorities. According to the affidavit, Homeland Security Investigations and Ontario police reported a 12-year-old in Ottawa was coerced into sharing explicit images after Erkert traveled there and provided a burner phone, and a forensic interview plus Erkert’s own statements allege he digitally penetrated a 14-year-old relative in January 2026; bail was set at $1,000,000 and he remains in the Pike County Correctional Facility pending a preliminary hearing.
