Do the Right Thing (with Pre-Recorded Intro by Joie Lee)

Set on a single summer day in Brooklyn’s Bed-Stuy, Spike Lee’s 1989 masterpiece follows a cast of unforgettable characters whose easygoing interactions escalate into racially charged confrontations and ultimately explode into violence. Punctuated by Public Enemy’s “Fight the Power,” the film affirmed Lee’s bold vision and remains politically and emotionally resonant; this screening includes a pre-recorded introduction by Joie Lee.
