Downingtown woman charged with attempted murder after July shooting

Debra Dora, 60, of West Chester has been charged with Attempted Murder and related counts after allegedly shooting another person and threatening his life on July 19, 2026, in the 200 block of Chestnut Street, Downingtown. Officers arrived around 12:30 a.m., found Dora still in possession of a firearm and took her into custody; the victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Dora was arraigned before the Honorable John Hipple and remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post $750,000 bail; the Chester County DA and Downingtown Police say the department’s rapid response led to a quick arrest.
