Driver served nine drinks before wrong-way crash that killed Mass. trooper, report says
Investigators say the driver ignored multiple signs and drove nearly two miles the wrong way on Route 1; his blood-alcohol level was 0.192.
A drunk driver was served nine alcoholic beverages before a wrong-way crash that killed a Massachusetts police officer, according to a new report.
MassLive.com reports investigators concluded Hernan Ramon Marrero ignored multiple “Wrong Way” and “Do Not Enter” signs as he drove nearly two miles against traffic on Route 1, leading to a collision that killed Massachusetts State Trooper Kevin Trainor on May 6. An investigate report released Tuesday by Essex District Attorney Paul Tucker’s office also detailed suspected liquor law violations at the restaurant where Marrero spent hours drinking that night.
