Drugs and gun seized in Lancaster search warrant; man charged

On July 15, 2026 at about 5 p.m., Lancaster City Bureau of Police Selective Enforcement Unit served a search warrant at an apartment in the first block of S. Ann Street following a weeks-long investigation into alleged drug sales by Charles Shipp. Officers detained Shipp as he left the residence and seized a Polymer 80 9mm handgun, 117 packets containing heroin/fentanyl, about 24 grams of cocaine, 13 bags of hallucinogenic mushrooms, multiple controlled-substance tablets, quantities of marijuana and methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, packaging and $855. Shipp—prohibited from possessing a firearm—was charged with one count Persons Not to Possess Firearms, seven counts of Possession With Intent to Deliver, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of possession of Drug Paraphernalia and is being held in lieu of $500,000 cash bail; Katherine Hardesty was also detained and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
