Around 4:00 a.m., Craig Fire Rescue, the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office Fire Crew and the U.S. Wildland Fire Service responded to a wildland fire in the Cedar Mountain area off Moffat County Road 7 and contained it to approximately 1.5 acres. The initial investigation indicates fireworks—illegal under current Stage 1 Fire Restrictions—likely started the blaze; the fire remains under investigation.
