Between Sept. 18 and Sept. 23, 2026, East Hempfield Township police charged Charles J. Bukowski (66) of Lancaster with two counts of Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance and a summary traffic violation from a Sept. 14 traffic stop; Ryan Douglas Mitchell (33) of East Berlin was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (M2) stemming from a May incident and a warrant was issued. Officers also cited a 14-year-old Lancaster male for disorderly conduct at Hempfield High School, investigated a porch theft of a mountain bike valued at $164, charged a 14-year-old Elizabethtown male with two counts of aggravated assault at River Rock Academy, and charged Linda A. Brem (74) of Lancaster with Accident Involving Damage to an Attended Vehicle (M3) and summary violations after a two-vehicle crash on Sept. 21. All persons charged with an offense are presumed innocent.
