From June 19–30, 2026, East Hempfield Township police handled a range of incidents including a retail theft at Stauffer’s of Kissel Hill, multiple DUI arrests (including Shalavia Judene Gibbons, Brent Andrew McDowell, Brynn Marie Remsburg and Noah Michael Gerrity), and vandalism where four tires were punctured. Officers also cited Joel M. Kasak for animal neglect after removing a distressed dog from a locked vehicle at Spooky Nook Sports, charged a 16-year-old with bicycle theft and receiving stolen property, and obtained a warrant for Rey Javier Ortiz on forgery and related fraud charges. Other reports included a hit-and-run linked to DUI, criminal mischief by Charles Brian Herman (estimated loss $3,050.04), defiant trespass, harassment and a domestic-related simple assault arrest of James P. Maley.
