Extreme Heat Warning — Heat index up to 105°F

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for the area from 11:00 AM Wednesday through 8:00 PM Friday, with heat index values that could reach 105°F. Residents are advised to drink plenty of water, spend time in air-conditioned buildings, wear lightweight loose clothing, limit strenuous outdoor activity to early morning or evening, check on older adults, young children and those with medical conditions, and ensure pets have water and shade. Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles; if someone becomes confused, loses consciousness, or has a body temperature of 103°F or higher, call 911 immediately.
