The first Black-owned winery in the Pocono Mountains and the fourth in the state of Pennsylvania, Legacy Vines Winery in Gilbert is opening. The winery is being founded by husband-and-wife team Shantelle and Brian Davis.

Legacy Vines Winery is an extension of the Davises’ longtime local business, Willie Mae’s Place. Following the recent birth of their first child, the couple transitioned away from daily restaurant service and reimagined the space as a destination for curated wine experiences and special events.

“Our goal has always been to create something meaningful for the community,” said Shantelle Davis. “Legacy Vines Winery allows us to share our love of wine, food, and family while creating unique experiences for guests in the Poconos.”

Legacy Vines Winery focuses on guided tastings and curated food and wine experiences, offering a more personal alternative to larger wineries. Guests can enjoy intimate tastings with the owners while learning about the winemaking process and enjoying thoughtfully paired food.

In addition to wine, Legacy Vines Winery offers craft cocktails, mocktails, and beverages featuring local spirits.

The Davises also operate Sip & Play Transportation, providing safe transportation to wineries, breweries, and distilleries throughout the region so guests can explore the local beverage scene without worrying about driving.
