Flash flood warning for Allegheny County until 12:45 a.m. Friday
The National Weather Service warns of 2–3 inches of rain per hour and potential flooding in low-lying and urban areas.
On Thursday at 9:40 p.m. the National Weather Service released a flash flood warning in effect until Friday at 12:45 a.m. for Allegheny County.
"At 9:40 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," according to the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."
