Four juveniles arrested after July 4 block party violence in Chicora‑Cherokee

The North Charleston Police Department says four juveniles were taken into custody after violence at a permitted July 4 block party in the Chicora‑Cherokee community. The juveniles face charges including Assault by Mob 3rd Degree, Assault on Police while Resisting Arrest, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Machine Gun, and Breach of Peace; two adults — 19‑year‑old Giovanni Mekhi Sincere Campbell and 18‑year‑old Sa'Mya Adriana Collette Weaver — were also arrested on related charges. Officers reported multiple gunshots, recovered firearms and a makeshift spear, two female officers suffered minor injuries, and the investigation remains ongoing with the possibility of additional charges.
