On May 21, 2026 at about 4:00 p.m., a Forks Township officer found a vehicle stopped on the shoulder near Meco Road and Richmond Road and observed driver Georgine Hoyos, 62, stumble and show signs of intoxication. Officers detected the odor of alcohol, and Hoyos admitted to drinking but refused standardized field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test. She also refused to provide a blood sample at a DUI center; a judge signed a search warrant for blood collection which she intentionally refused, and she was charged with one count of Driving Under the Influence — General Impairment (M) and one count of Obstructing Administration of Law (M2).
