Gusty winds expected across parts of Pennsylvania until Monday midday
The National Weather Service updated its alert at 7:41 a.m. Monday, warning of gusty winds through noon across several western Pennsylvania counties and higher elevations.
The National Weather Service issued an updated weather alert at 7:41 a.m. on Monday for gusty winds until noon for Westmoreland Ridges, Fayette Ridges and Higher Elevations of Indiana as well as Mercer, Venango, Forest, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, Beaver, Allegheny, Armstrong, Washington, Greene, Westmoreland, Fayette and Indiana counties.
"Scattered showers this morning will be capable of producing brief strong wind gusts between 35-45 mph as they move eastward across the Upper Ohio Valley. An isolated gust of 50 mph is possible," adds the weather service.
