H.O.P.E. Panel Brings DeLand Community and Law Enforcement Together
Community leaders and law enforcement met at Chisholm Community Center to discuss juvenile crime, parenting, police engagement, complaint procedures and enforcement technology.
The H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Through Partnership & Engagement) panel at the Chisholm Community Center hosted open, honest conversations about law enforcement interactions, juvenile crime, parenting, local juvenile programs, complaint procedures and automated license plate reader technology. Organized by the DeLand Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the panel featured Rev. Dr. Ryan Griffin Sr., Hon. Judge Hubert L. Grimes (Ret.), Vice Mayor Jessica Davis, Capt. Daniel Shivers, Chief Jason Umberger and Capt. Prurince Dice.
