From July 24–27, 2026, the Hanover Borough Police Department recorded a series of calls including disturbances involving disorderly juveniles and adults, criminal trespass reports, thefts and a telephone fraud complaint. Aaron Morter, 24, of Hanover was cited for retail theft and a retail theft charge is pending against a 43-year-old McSherrystown woman; charges for ethnic intimidation, harassment, and disorderly conduct are pending against a 43-year-old McKnightstown man. Two missing-person reports — a 15-year-old runaway and a 19-year-old Hanover female — were logged and both returned home; other incidents included a stolen wagon and multiple domestic arguments and warnings.
