Harrisburg Police: Firework Safety Tips for Fourth of July
Harrisburg Police urge residents to follow simple precautions when using fireworks to prevent injuries and property damage.
The Harrisburg Bureau of Police reminds residents to celebrate the Fourth of July safely by buying only legal consumer fireworks, keeping children and spectators at a safe distance, wearing safety glasses, and keeping a hose or bucket of water nearby. Additional advice includes reading labels, lighting one firework at a time, never reigniting duds, using fireworks outdoors away from buildings, protecting pets, and consulting the linked CPSC, NSC, PSP resources and the Harrisburg fireworks ordinance.
