Hazleton man arrested on suspicion of DUI after rollover crash
Driver arrested on suspicion of DUI after Subaru overturned in early-morning crash; no injuries reported.
On Aug. 30, 2026, at approximately 3:08 a.m., Hazleton City Police responded to a single-vehicle rollover at the intersection of South Church Street and West Walnut Street and found a Subaru on its roof. The operator, identified as Brian Otero-Acevedo, was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and submitted to a blood test; the vehicle struck a fire hydrant, a no-parking sign and a city light pole. There were no reported injuries, and all parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
