The Montour Township Police Department urges residents to take precautions during rising temperatures — stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., wear lightweight clothing, check on the elderly and young children, and never leave pets or children unattended in vehicles. Cooling stations in Bloomsburg are available at Bloomsburg Fire Department (911 Market Street) Wednesday–Friday 9 a.m.–4 p.m.; New Possibilities Resources and Recovery Center (260 E 7th St) Wednesday–Friday 12 p.m.–4 p.m.; and Bloomsburg Public Library (225 Market Street) Wednesday–Thursday 9 a.m.–8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.–4 p.m., Saturday closed (may open 12 p.m.–4 p.m. if needed).
