Identity theft attempts hit Cherry Hills resident; no financial loss

On June 8, 2026, a Cherry Hills Village resident received a notification that their personal identifying information was involved in multiple attempts to change passwords on online accounts. The victim had a credit freeze in place and was able to lock their credit accounts, preventing any financial loss. The Cherry Hills Village Police Department reports the case is closed with no further leads.
