James George Zawick, 83, of Upper Saucon, Dies

Owner of Zawick Manufacturing, Army veteran, longtime community volunteer and car enthusiast.

James George Zawick (1942 – 2026)

James George Zawick, 83, of Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Born in Bethlehem on Nov. 14, 1942, James was the son of the late George and Olga (Wrabel) Zawick. He served our country faithfully in the United States Army during peacetime. Following his service, James went on to become the proud owner and operator of Zawick Manufacturing in Hellertown, a business he successfully ran for over 20 years until its closing in 2003. Jimmy was a deeply active and respected member of his community. He was a faithful member of the First United Church of Christ in Hellertown, and he dedicated his time as a board member and past treasurer for the Saucon Valley Community Center. A man of diverse passions, James was an avid car enthusiast, holding memberships in both the Morgan and Porsche car clubs, and he traveled to attend the prestigious LeMans race 31 times. He also held a deep appreciation for classical music and the arts as a dedicated supporter of the Bach Festival. Jimmy was known as a worldwide traveler and a connoisseur of fine wine.

SURVIVORS

He is survived by his loving sisters: Alice M. Totenbier of Hellertown, Carol Strogen and her husband, Edward M. Jr., of Berwyn, Sandy Edmiston and her husband, J. Timothy, of Allentown. Jimmy also leaves behind seven nieces and nephews, and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews who will cherish his memory. Jimmy was predeceased by a sister: Joyce McCall.

SERVICES
