Saugerties Police arrested a local man July 22 on misdemeanors including aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration, plus traffic infractions.
On July 22, 2026, at about 4:00 p.m., the Saugerties Police Department arrested James M. Rucano, 53, of Saugerties, NY. He was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest (PL 205.30), Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree (PL 195.05), failure to obey a police officer (VTL 1102) and several traffic infractions. Rucano was processed at the Saugerties Police Department on Railroad Ave and released on an appearance ticket to appear in Town of Saugerties Justice Court at a later date.
